Description

Greetings! This group is for discussions of Astro-Physics German equatorial telescope mounts with Goto capability, including use of related software such as PEMPro and images made with AP mounts. The group is intended as a friendly place where people interested in these topics may carry out constructive discussions of their equipment, without most of the product bashing and personal feuds that sometimes dominate other venues. We are very fortunate that Roland and Marj Christen and some of their employees provide valuable contributions to the group.

On the subject of serial ports...
I got my first AP mount this week (huzzah!) and can confirm that the Keyspan UPR-112 "Mini Port Replicator"[1] works fine with the GTOCP3. Confirmed in both

... Phil: You should be using a straight thru serial cable. The problem is probably your USB to serial converter, not all on the market work for this

Hi Phil, I just hooked my new AP900 up yesterday using the Socket brand PCMCIA dual serial card and bought a straight through RS-232 cable DB9 Female to DB9
